It was previously announced that Qin Zheng Coe would be teaching at the Future leaders Seminar Series Midwest. We just received this update from the seminar’s sponsor, Aikido Shimbokukai.

Chicago Aikikai member Qin Zheng Coe recently spoke with author, coach and speaker Barbara Bray on Bray’s podcast Rethinking Learning. In “Episode #146: Unlocking Potential and Igniting Positive Changes with Qin Coe“, Qin talks about her life, moving to Chicago, training in aikido, and her work as a mentor and coach.

Chicago Aikikai member Qin Zheng Coe (2nd dan) will be one of the featured instructors at Future Leaders Seminar Series- Midwest sponsored by Aikido Shimbokukai. The seminar will feature four instructors from a variety of lineages and affiliations, each teaching one class. In addition to Qin Zheng Coe, the instructors are:
Michael Lynch Sensei, 2 Dan, Kenosha Aikikai, United States Aikido Federation
Al Sindaravicius Sensei, 3 Dan, Great Lakes Aikido, Aikido Shimbokukai
Gracia Watson Sensei, 2 Dan, Prairie Aikikai, Aikido Shimbokukai
The seminar will be held July 30, 2023, 9:30 am-1:30 pm (CST) at Great Lakes Aikido, 150 Fairway Drive, Suite 156, Vernon Hills, IL and also be live streamed.

Starting July 2, Qin Zheng Coe (Nidan) will begin teaching a special class held every 1st and 3rd Sunday from 10 to 11 am. The focus of the class will vary.

Chicago Aikikai has been invited to demonstrate at this year’s Ginza Holiday Japanese cultural festival held at the Midwest Buddhist Temple (MBT). The Aikikai will perform two demos at 7:30 pm on Friday, August 11 and at 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 12. This will be the temple’s first full-scale festival in three years, since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The temple is located at 435 W. Menomonee St., Chicago, IL 60614.

Aikidō is a modern non-competitive Japanese martial art for developing flexible response to situations with a calm mind and relaxed body without relying on size or muscular strength.
