Chicago Aikikai officially rang in the new year with its kagami biraki and potluck held as part of its regular Third Friday class. Training was kicked off by Chief Instructor and Dojo-cho Marsha Turner Sensei, and followed by rotating instruction by dan-ranked members. Class was followed by a sankyu test for Joe Guerrier and potluck, including the traditional breaking open of the kagami mochi rice cake and a cask of sake.
