Ikeda Shihan will be teaching his powerful “Internal Power” aikido concepts. \nHiroshi Ikeda Shihan is the founder and Chief Instructor of Boulder Aikikai\, a non-profit school of Aikido in Boulder\, Colorado. He currently holds the rank of nanadan (7th dan) through Mitsugi Saotome Shihan and the Aikido World Federation (Hombu Dojo). Ikeda Sensei is the founder of the worldwide renown\, Aikido Bridge. Sensei is also Vice President of Aikido Shimbokukai. \nIkeda Sensei began his study of Aikido in 1968\, as a college student at Kokugakuin University in Tokyo. In 1978\, he followed Saotome Shihan to Sarasota\, Florida. In 1980\, he moved to Boulder to establish Boulder Aikikai. DESCRIPTION:Chicago Aikikai is pleased to announce that its Summer Seminar with Tres Hofmeister Sensei\, 7d\, will still be going forward\, though now via Zoom. Hofmeister Sensei will teach two classes: 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm (CT) on Friday\, June 5 and 10:00 am – 11:00 am (CT) on Saturday\, June 6. \nThe Friday evening class will be followed by Zoom social and Quarantini time (Be sure to have your drinks handy!). \nTo register\, please e-mail info@chicagoaikikai.org with “Tres Seminar” in the subject line. You will receive an e-mail with Zoom login info shortly before the start of the seminar. \nNo fee is required\, but there is a suggested donation of $20.00. Click here to make your donation online. \nTres Hofmeister Sensei is a student of Mitsugi Saotome Shihan and Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan. He began his training in 1978 and entered Boulder Aikikai under Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan in 1980. Hofmeister Sensei is a senior instructor for Aikido Schools of Ueshiba\, teaching regularly at Boulder Aikikai and at seminars throughout North America and abroad. Hofmeister Sensei is also a certified practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method®. He has a particular interest in the process of learning in Aikido and its relationship to self-understanding.
