The COVID-19 situation is especially troubling with significant consequences around the world and across all sectors of society. Aggressive and preventative measures are being taken to protect our individual and collective health. This is an unprecedented situation which requires many of us to adjust our normal practices, and for our Dojo to adjust its practices as well.
In an effort to protect the health and well-being of members, instructors and visitors at the Chicago Aikikai, and out of an abundance of caution, we will temporarily suspend classes effective Saturday, March 14 through March 31, 2020. We will reassess at that time and determine whether or not we will extend further. This includes any practice at the dojo.
This measure is precautionary and we take it in the best interests of our Dojo family and our extended Aikido community. During this time we ask that you continue to support the Dojo and stay connected for updates and discussions about keiko and matters of interest to Aikido aficionados.
Decisions concerning upcoming Dojo events will be made and communicated based upon current information with a focus on the health and safety of our members and instructors.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we all try to navigate this rapidly changing situation. In this time of uncertainty please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
We look forward to connecting with you soon. Please stay safe and stay healthy and stay tuned for updates.
